Staff Training on Serious Games, Game-Based Learning, and Gamification in Education in Porto, Portugal
As part of the DIGITCRESHE project, which aims to promote Digital Transformation in Higher Education Institutions in the Western Balkans (https://www.digitcreshe.eu), staff members from the Department of Creative Industries, PhD Gerdi Papa and PhD Joan Ikonomi along with partners from higher education institution in the Western Ballkans, attended a training organized by Porto Polytechnic in Porto, Portugal, from May 7th to May 9th.
The training focused on Serious Games, Game-Based Learning, and Gamification in Education, aiming to equip future curricula and trainings with gaming methodologies to enhance learning and increase student engagement in higher education.
During the training, staff members were introduced to the main concepts and methodologies of Game-Based Learning and had the opportunity to test and understand how some developers in Portugal are using gamification as an educational and learning tool.
More trainings will follow, and we are excited about the digital future ahead of us to better prepare our students."
